FASIHUDDIN SOHARWARDI NAATS
Syed Fasihuddin Soharwardy is a leading nasheed singer or Naat Khawan from Pakistan. Most of his work is in the Urdu language. However he has performed nasheeds (Naats) in multiple languages including Punjabi, Persian and Arabic.[1]
He was born on June 15, 1956 in Karachi, Pakistan. He has been performing nasheeds since the age of 5, and was heavily influenced by his father, Syed Riazuddin Soharwardy. His singing style is considered to be unique with a very powerful voice. He holds a distinct record of reciting over 5000 nasheeds with more than 160 albums.[2] He has travelled to 27 countries for various shows. He first rose to fame with 'Main Behak Sako' which aired on Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television in the 1980s. His other work include 'Main to Panjtan ka ghulam hoon', 'Allah Hoo Allah Hoo', 'Khuda Ka Zikr Karein', 'Lam Yati', 'Aye Subz gumbat walay' and 'Mujrim Hoon Dil Se Khouf E Qayamat Nikaal Do' just to name a few.
For his regular high school education, he did his high school from Government Secondary Schooland Bachelor of Arts degree from Government Islamia College, Karachi. Later on he went and completed his law degree from Urdu Law College and a master's degree in Journalism. He currently resides in Karachi, Pakistan but frequently travels to Europe and North America to perform in different shows.
